Everyone deserves love and respect and building self confidence will go a long way in getting the recognition you deserve. Famous people are strong believers in doing what you can in everyday life to help you build self confidence. Helen Keller once said that you should never bend your head, but always hold it high and look the world straight in the face. Brian Tracy said it well by saying “Whatever we expect with confidence becomes our own self-fulfilling prophecy.”

In building your self confidence, you need to take steps that will help you build your inner strength and become more assertive in your dealing with others. This takes time and patience and is not an overnight thing.

 

Steps To Help You Build Self Confidence

They say one of the first steps in helping your sort out problems is to take stock of what is wrong. The same is true when you lack confidence. Recognizing what is holding you back from being confident is the first step to building self confidence.

What makes that you feel out of place in front of others. Is it your acne, negative experiences in the past such as getting bullied, being fat or having to deal with unmanageable hair. You need to identify it and write it down.

Once you have a checklist of what is leading to the lack of self confidence, you need to get to the root of the problem which may even mean that you have to face your fears head on. Once you have taken it upon yourself to start dealing with your fears or problems, you will see a definite improvement and may even experience incidences where you start becoming more assertive.

According to Thomas A. Bennett if you decide you are going to tackle a certain task and do your best to complete it successfully, you will build self confidence as the sense of accomplishment is immense.

Take Action To Build Self Confidence

One of the most important steps in building your self confidence is in taking action. Do not sit and top about something and over think it. This way you will never get yourself in doing something you have a fear of doing. Follow Nike’s philosophy on things and “Just Do It”

By being present in your thinking and going around doing things that needs to be done is one of the best ways to build self confidence. Another way to get to do things you normally wouldn’t is to relax and lighten up as you will get to realize it is not such a big problem as you initially thought. Once you managed to achieve this state of mind through things like self hypnosis nothing will seem to much for you to do.

What might make you even more confident is the realization that people are busy with their own life and do not really care about what you do or not do. In other words, the world doesn’t revolve around what you are doing or not. This is quite a sobering thought and might help you a lot more in your quest to build self confidence.
